Fire Department Financial Resolutions

Fire departments are struggling with finding enough money to do their critical mission safely.

And most don't know how to find and attract the funding they so desperately need.
Over the past four weeks, we've offered 4 different resolutions.  4 new things to do that will dramatically impact your financial situation.

We'll summarize those 4 practices here:

  1. Plan, plan, plan.  Have a financial plan to know what and how you will accomplish your goals.
  2. Know, know, know.  Understand what financial information is telling you.  Are you on the right track or headed to disaster.
  3. Adapt, adapt, adapt. Nothing works exactly as planned.  Know when to adjust your plans and expectations to stay on course.
  4. Prepare, Prepare, Prepare.  Take the time to prepare stakeholders for major purchases or projects.  If you want taxpayers or council members to fund your plans, they need to process the cost and value of the project.  Education takes time.

When you begin these behaviors, you'll start to notice that your financial situation will improve.

Stay safe!
